Part Of Speech
Eight Parts Of Speech
1. Noun (kata benda)
2. Pronoun (kata ganti orang)
3. Adjective (kata sifat)
4. Verb (kata kerja)
5. Adverb (kata keterangan/tambahan)
6. Preposition (kata depan)
7. Conjunction (kata sambung)
8. Interjection (kata seru)

1.      Noun
Word that names :
·         Person (orang)
·         Place (tempat)
·         A thing (benda)
·         An idea (gagasan)
    Kinds of  Nouns
Common Nouns : boy, girl
Proper Nouns : John, Mary
Singular Nouns : boy, girl
Plural Nouns : boys, girls
Singular possessive : boy’s, girl’s
Plural Possessive : boys’, girls’
2.      verb
Verb is a word that expresses action or otherwise helps to make a statement.
Kinds of verbs:
·         action verbs=express mental or physical action.
For example: he rode the horse to victory.
·         Linking verbs=make a statement by connecting the subject with a word that describes or explains it.
For example : he has been sick.
3.      Pronoun
The pronoun is a word used in place of one or more nouns. It may stand for a person, place, thing, or idea.
Kinds of pronouns :
·         Personal pronouns: I, me, mine, your, yours, she, her, hers, it, its, we, us, our, ours, they, them, their, theirs, myself and yourself.
·         Indefinite pronouns : anybody, each, either, none, someone, one, etc.
·         Demonstrative pronouns : this, that, these, those
·         Interrogative pronouns : who, whom, what, which, whose.
4. Adjective
Adjective is modifies or describes a noun or pronoun.
Such as:
·         Did you lose your address book?
·         Is that a wool sweater?
·         Just give me five minutes.
5. Adverb
Adverb is modifies or describes a verb, an adjective, or another adverb.




 
Such as:               
·         He ran quickly.
·         She left yesterday.
·         We went there.
·         It was too hot.


6.    Preposition
Preposition is introduces a noun or pronoun a phrase or clause functioning in the sentence as a noun. The word or word group that the preposition introduces is its object.
Such as:
·         They received a postcard from Bobby telling about this trip to Canada.
·         You can press those leaves under glass.
·         Her letter to Nina and Ralph brought good news.
·         It happened during the last storm.

7.      Conjunction
Conjunction is a word that joins words or groups of words.
Such as: and, or , either/or, either/nor, but.
8.      Interjection
Interjection is an exclamatory word that expresses emotion.
Such as:
·         Goodness! What a cute baby!
·         Wow! Look at that sunset!
