Gender OF Nouns
Noun gender is the grouping of nouns based in names that refer to male/boy, female/girl, and non living things.
There are 4 types:
1.      Masculine Gender- refers to nouns that name males.
·         Father
·         Grandpa
·         Uncle
·         Nephew
2.      Feminine Gender -refers to nouns that name females.
·         Mother
·         Grandma
·         Aunt
·         Niece
3.      Common Gender-refers to nouns that name female/male.
·         Parent
·         Cousin
·         Visitor
·         Teacher
4.      Neuter Gender- refers to nouns that name living things.
·         Kite
·         Stories
·         Book
·         Building

GENDER
·         Most nouns in English has the same form both for male and for female.
Example: Child, dancer, doctor, engineer, friend, guest.
·         These forms may arise from three distinct.
Modes:
·         Adding the suffix –ess
·         Examples:
·         Actor-actress/poet-poetess
·         Prince-princess/host-hostess
·         In certain words, there is a need for  any changes spell
